Sanliurfa, Nemrut and Gobeklitepe Tour from Istanbul

Day 1: Istanbul to Adıyaman & Mount Nemrut Tour

09:45 – Flight from Istanbul to Adıyaman (timing may vary)
11:25 – Arrival at Adıyaman Airport. Our team will meet you and take you to a local restaurant for lunch.
After the break, you will begin your journey through ancient history with:

  • Cendere Bridge, one of the world’s oldest Roman bridges still in use, was built without mortar using massive stone blocks.
  • Arsemia, once the summer capital of the Commagene Kingdom, features inscriptions and carvings that reflect its political and religious importance.
  • Karakus Tumulus, a royal burial mound built for female members of the dynasty, is marked by impressive stone columns.
  • Finally, you’ll reach the summit of Mount Nemrut, where giant stone heads of gods overlook the horizon. Here, you’ll watch the sun set in one of the most mystical locations in the world.

After sunset, you will be transferred to Şanlıurfa by private vehicle. The drive takes approximately 3 to 3.5 hours, offering scenic views of the Southeastern Anatolian landscape. Upon arrival, check into your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gobeklitepe & Sanlıurfa Tour and Return to Istanbul

After breakfast and hotel check-out, you’ll begin a full-day cultural tour.

  • First stop is Gobeklitepe, a 12,000-year-old site believed to be the world’s first temple, predating even the pyramids.
  • Next, you’ll visit the Haleplibahce Mosaic Museum, home to incredibly detailed Roman mosaics, including rare depictions of Amazon warrior queens.
  • After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to the Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum, which displays artifacts from prehistoric Mesopotamia to the Islamic era.
  • Your last stop is the Pool of Abraham (Balıklıgöl), a sacred site believed to be where Prophet Abraham was miraculously saved from fire

Around 17:00, your second day will end, and we will transfer you to Sanlıurfa Airport.
20:15 – Flight back to Istanbul (subject to change)
22:15 – Arrival in Istanbul (one of the airports of Istanbul.)
